The Custom Field menu is used to add additional attributes to customer contacts. This menu allows you to store information that is not available in the primary information fields.
Below is a description of what each column represents:

Variable Types #
The types of variables available in Custom Field are:

| Date | Input in the form of a date (e.g., date of birth, booking date) |

| Checkbox | Input that allows selecting one or multiple options |
| Website | Input in the form of a URL or website address |
| Textarea | Input in the form of long text (e.g., notes or additional information) |
a. Add Custom Field #
Users can add variables through the Custom Field menu. Below is a guide to adding a new variable:
Step 1:
To add an additional variable, click Add Custom Field located in the top-left corner.
Step 2:
Layanika will display a form containing detailed information for the Custom Field. The required fields to complete include:
- Variable Name (use only letters and underscores e.g., pet_name).
- Variable Label (Maximum of 50 characters).
- Variable Description
- Variable Configuration
Available variable types in the Variable Configuration:
- Text, Number, Checkbox, Website, and Text Area: You can set a default value.
- Time: You can set a default value in time format (e.g., 09:30).
- Date:
- You can set a default value in date format (e.g., 2024-01-15).
- You can enable a date range option (start & end) to limit selectable dates
- Minimum Date —> Set the earliest selectable date:
- None: No minimum limit
- Today: Only today can be selected
- Specific Date: Select a specific date as the minimum limit.
- Maximum Date->Set the latest selectable date
- None: No maximum limit.
- Today: Only today can be selected
- Specific Date: Select a specific date as the maximum limit.
Then, users can save their changes by clicking the Save.
b. Edit Custom Field #
Users can update the description, variable name, label, and variable type by using Edit Custom FieldAny changes made to the variable will be automatically applied to all contacts that have filled in the Custom Field.
To edit a custom field, select the custom field you want to modify from the custom variables list, then click Edit . After making the necessary changes, click Save.
c. Delete Custom Field #
Users can delete custom field from the Contacts menu.
To delete an custom field, select the variable you want to remove from the contact form, then click Delete . The system will display a confirmation prompt to ensure you want to proceed. Click Delete again to confirm the removal of the acustom field.
