Telegram is an instant messaging platform that allows users to send and receive messages in real time across various devices, including smartphones, tablets, and desktops. Telegram supports various types of communication, including text messages, images, videos, files, and voice messages.
How Customers Can Send Messages #
Customers must send the first message to your business to start a conversation.
There are several ways to encourage customers to start a conversation:
- Chat Link: This is a short URL using the format
t.me/usernamehat you can add to your website, social media profiles, or newsletters. When customers click the link, they will be directed to start a chat with you. - QR Code: QR codes can be placed in physical locations such as hotels, restaurants, or malls. When customers scan the code, they will be directed to start a conversation with you.
- Chat Widget: A Telegram widget can be added to your website to encourage customers to start a conversation with you.
Supported File Types #
The following file types are supported by Telegram, along with their maximum file sizes:
Images (up to 10 MB)
Videos (up to 20 MB)
Files (up to 20 MB)

Connect Your Telegram Bot to the Telegram Channel in Layanika #
Connect Your Telegram Bot to the Telegram Channel in Layanika
Step 1:
Go to the Settingsmenu, then select Channel. Click add channelthen select telegram.
When connecting the Telegram channel in Layanika, users need to link a Telegram bot as the communication medium.
At this step, users can choose one of the following options:
- Create a New Bot
Select this option if you do not have a Telegram bot yet. The system will guide you through the process of creating a new bot via Telegram. - Connect an Existing Bot
Select this option if you already have a Telegram bot. You can directly connect the bot by providing the required information.
Step 2:
Send a message to BotFather, enter the command /mybotsif you already have a bot, or /newbot if you want to create a new one. Then follow the instructions provided.
Step 3:
Enter the Telegram bot token in the appropriate field on the Layanika platform. Then click Connect.
Channel Configuration #
Telegram Configuration page allows you to edit the channel name and provides a chat link and QR code to help customers start conversations with you.
Step 1:
Go to the Settingsmenu, then select Channel. Find your Telegram channel, click Manage
Step 2:
On Telegram Configuration page you will see the following:
- Channel Name: The channel name can be edited and is used internally to identify the channel.
- Chat Link: The Telegram link is a short URL that directs customers to start or continue a conversation with your Telegram bot. Customers will be redirected to a new or existing thread depending on whether they have previously messaged your Telegram bot.
- Qr Code: You can use the QR code to share the chat link with your contacts by clicking Download QR Code.
Delete Telegram Channel #
You can remove the Telegram channel from Layanika. Below is a guide on how to delete the channel:
Step 1:
Go to the Settings > Channel. Then Your Telegram Channel, then click Manage
Step 2:
On the Telegram channel configuration page, click Delete Channel. The system will display a confirmation prompt asking whether you want to remove the Telegram channel. If you are sure, click Yes, Delete.
